Tutoring Sessions
Do YOU want to train your dog yourself but you need a little extra help? Our "Tutoring Sessions" might be just what you're looking for! Have a trainer come train with you and your pup(s) in YOUR home/environment. Let us teach you the skills you will need to continue to improve your dogs' behavior (present or future) from this point forward.
What to expect during Tutoring Sessions:
- 4-8 personalized training sessions
- 60-90 min. lessons held at your home or other nearby locations
(ie. parks, pet friendly stores, etc.)
-Individual attention on you and your dog and the behaviors YOU want to focus on.
Basic Obedience: $400

Boarding School
They say the best way to learn a new language is to immerse yourself in it. That is exactly what we do in our "Boarding School" courses.
While at “Boarding School”, your dog will get a completely immersive training experience. They will be living with our family on our 14 acre homestead with our 3 dogs, 2 cats, flock of chickens and young son! All the same distractions you have at your house (and then some)! We will provide a structured and consistent environment that also still feels like home.
What to expect during Boarding School:
-A minimum of 4 training sessions per day per dog
-A minimum of 1 video or text update per day per dog
- 60-90 min. pick-up lessons held between 4pm-6pm on Fridays
Basic Obedience: $1000
(plus tax & training equipment)
5-day/4-night stay.

Advanced Obedience $3000

Follow Up Options
All follow up options are only available as add-ons for dogs that have completed another full training course with us.
Once your dog has been through a training program with us, they are part of our family and they are always welcome back to stay with us whenever needed. Going away for a weekend or just have a busy few days at work and want them to stay somewhere familiar where they won't lose any of their training? Or, maybe they (or you) just need a quick refresher? Have them stay with their extended training family here at Mother of Dog!
Overnight Stays: $100/night
Play Days: $75/day
Individual Lessons: $50/hr
Group Meet Ups: Free
Access to our exclusive "Mother of Dog Family Reunion" Facebook page is offered with every training package. fun training exercises will be posted on there to help you keep up on your training as well as learn some new fun skills. There will also occasionally be group meet ups (formal or informal) posted on this page. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for meet up times and locations.
All dogs at group meet ups must be on a non-retractable leash at all times (even if they have been trained to be off-leash through our Advanced Obedience courses). There will be 1 trainer for 10-20 dogs at group meet ups so please be aware that each owner is responsible for themselves and their own dog’s actions. Please be responsible and respectful of others’ space.
These classes are designed to refresh/ up-keep on skills learned in
training courses and to increase your dog’s ability to perform tasks around the distractions of other dogs and people. They ARE NOT for teaching new skills or dog to dog socialization.
Canine Good CitizenTests $50
The American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen test (CGC) is a certification program that evaluates dogs in simulated everyday situations in a relaxed, noncompetitive atmosphere. Dogs that pass the CGC test are considered reliable family and community members and will receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.
The CGC test evaluates dogs on the following:

Greets a friendly stranger

Sits politely for petting

Welcomes being groomed, brushed; allows paws and ears to be handled

Walks as directed on a loose leash

Moves politely through a crowd

Sits, lies down, and stays in place on command

Comes when called

Behaves politely around other dogs

Reacts with confidence to distractions

Can be left with a trusted person
Only Offered to individuals who have completed a full training course with us.
Testing done by certified CGC evaluator Jill Gravius ( I am certified to test for CGC but I am not allowed to test dogs I have trained per AKC rules)

Have a Puppy?

Puppy Basics: $250
The "Puppy Basics" course will teach you everything you need to know about owning a puppy and how to start their training off on the right foot.
What is covered in this course?
*Potty training/ crate training
*Introduction to leash walking/heel
* "Sit" command
* "Down" command
*Recall with limited distractions
* "Drop" command
* Exercise and activity schedules
Includes:
*3- 60-90 minute individual in home lessons
* Exclusive Mother of Dog "Puppy Rules" print out, "Potty Training" packet, and a printed "Potty Journal" print out.
